Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, thou art our father, we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
The Vessel I want to be is not some beautiful vase sitting on the shelf, not some perfect piece collecting dust never to be used but only sitting. I don't want to be without blemish or dirt or without stain or chip. Only sitting in the sun reflecting what light shines on me. I want to be the vessel most used, the favorite coffee mug with the stained ring that is reached for each morning and filled with warmth and comfort. I want to be the tea pot used bright and early each day piping hot to a boil, so used the burn marks are noticeable from across the room. I want to be a vessel such as an iron skillet used to fry the families meal and seasoned ever so perfectly with love and laughter. I want to be the vessel that is most reached for in confidence and reliability. A vessel not used to merely hold a flower, in prestige set aside for gazing, but I want to be a vessel that is used for pouring, for working, for flowing out the Goodness of God, to all in need. Lord make me into Your vessel today, the vessel You choose to hold in Your hands to work for Your kingdom. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen
